2nd Annual Rock-Climbing Championship
January 23, 2025 Miskooseepi School in Bloodvein First Nation hosted MFNSS’ 2nd Annual Rock-Climbing Championship. Seven schools in total participated in the event, including Chemawewin School and Split Lake School, which are partnered with MFNERC, and MFNSS Schools, Ginew School, Lawrence Sinclair Memorial School, Pinaymootang School, Sergeant Tommy Prince School, and the host Miskooseepi School.
Students from grades 5-8 were invited to participate from all MFNSS schools and MFNERC-partnered schools. Up to 10 participants were allowed from each school.
Middle-year learners enjoyed a day of exercise on the climbing walls and friendly competition with fellow schools, including interschool play in the gym between time on the wall. The tournament engages physical activity, safety, and cooperative values with friendly competition.
